Youve been seen !!

Rabbi Zoundel from Salant (Rabbi Israel Salaters Rabbi was used to mix with poors and tradespeolple.

He was trying by all means to prevent them from stealing and ripping their fellow.
(Custom unfortunately tenacious commercialy nowadays !)

He used astuteness, gentleness and humor to make them understand the importance of honesty.

One day, while he was travelling by wagon, he passed next to a full of fruits orchard unattended.

The wagon driver came down discreetly and strarted to fill a bag with fruits, looking from all sides to see if he was seen.

Rabbi Zoundel started to shout : « be careful someone is seeing you !!  Quick come back ! »

The wagon driver frightened relayed all the fruits and quickly got back in the wagon.

After few minutes, he cheked and  no one.

So he asked to his compagnion who saw him ?

The Rabbi raised his finger toward the sky and told him : « up there someone saw you ! »

LEARN TO RECOVER

Loads of people use their mistakes to give them good conscience.

The fact of being dropped is for them a fallacious argument to justify their mistakes.

Its not because the Yetser Hara is strong enough to put us down that we have to stay there !

Have we already seen someone stopping to work because he missed a job ? No !
It is obvious that working is essential.

We need to understand that fighting to be sucessful is essential.  Because stopping the fight is the fail withoutfail !

Giving up is a bigger ill than what is pushing us to give up.
If you cant stop your adversary to put you down, at least learn how to recover quickly !

Learning to fall is limiting damages of the drop.  To recover, shows that the fight is not over and will never be.

To fight and fall  may be a sucess or a fail  but to stop fighting is to fail at 100%.

The Slap

The Talmud tells us a strange story,

when Nebuchadnezzar the evil king, arrives at the height of his power, he wanted to thank God. He began to praise so strong that he was nearly exceed King David in his psalms. Then an angel intervenes and slapped his face to stop him....

That is the strange part of this story, the angel intervention. Every men in the world has free will, why he prevented him from continuing?

The Rabbi Of Kosk explains

This is a great lesson that God wanted to give to Nebuchadnezzar, it is easy to sing when everythings is allrigth, to say « thank you » when all is going well that's the least of it.
But, will he be able to sing after a slap?

why did him not continue to sing?

If you want to compare you to David - put yourself in the same conditions as David

It is just enough to read the titles of the mizmorim : « Chased by his son » and « From the depths of the cellar »
