The
Talmud tells us a strange story,
when
Nebuchadnezzar
the evil king, arrives at the height of his power, he wanted to thank
God. He began to praise so strong that he was nearly exceed King
David in his psalms. Then an angel intervenes and slapped his face to
stop him....
That
is the strange part of this story, the angel intervention. Every men
in the world has free will, why he prevented him from continuing?
The
Rabbi Of Kosk explains
This
is a great lesson that God wanted to give to Nebuchadnezzar,
it is easy to sing when everythings is allrigth, to say « thank
you » when all is going well that's the least of it.
But,
will he be able to sing after a slap?
why
did him not continue to sing?
If
you want to compare you to David - put yourself in the same
conditions as David
It
is just enough to read the titles of the mizmorim : « Chased by
his son » and « From the depths of the cellar »
